Fossil Fools Day! (new developments) 30/3/2009

Dear followers!

I thought I would include this section, as this what happens when, only two days away, things can go wrong!

Because the event is only two days away, I was under the impression that all the arrangements were going smoothly.
Laura had been trying to get hold of Teresa, a women in charge of the Dartington costume department. Our idea was to go over to the costume department on the 31st of March, to see what they had in stock, so we could possibly borrow something for the event. Laura had bee trying to contact this women all morning, but had no luck. Laura and I decided to have a look in the South Devon’s costume department. In there we found a kings robe which we have taken to use for the event. Old King Cole outfit is nearly finished!
I rang up Michael Rose and asked him what he had for his costume, on which he told me he had actually dropped out, and was not attending. I then asked if any of his costume could be used for the other clown, he agreed.
On this, I rang up Andrew (the other clown/jester) and asked if it was still OK for him to be a jester, he agreed so I gave him the outline for his outfit. (Anything red/yellow)
Hannah has not be at the meetings or in college recently and Laura and I suspected that she might have dropped out. However, I received a text from her today saying she is still willing to participate in the event, if I haven’t found anyone else for her part of the wind. I have found someone to take her place, Richard De Young, who is more than willing to do it, so I have told Hannah she can be another jester if she wants. If she turns up on Wednesday she does, if not. . ?
Tomorrow, Laura is going into Paignton to pick up some costume bits and pieces for the event (a jesters hat, bells, a crown ect.)
Laura and I have also finished our speeches for the audience through the trial, and today Laura is having some pictures laminated.
If all goes well today, tomorrow should be fine!

Initial thoughts on the latest issues:

Although when all of these things happened at once, I did start to feel quite defeated, it was a great opportunity to try and make something positive out of a situation that was felt to be hopeless. Since joining this project, there have been many obstacles that have been put in the way, and sometimes I feel like just giving up. (Today was one of those days!) But I carry on, because I want to see the finished product, even if it doesn't go well at all.

  1. Hi Caz, you always learn more by things going wrong, it's a great opportunity to reflect and work out a correct strategy. Make the most of this experience, i.e. how would you evaluate it, apart from writing your views. Is there a way that you can say whether or not the project worked? Sounds fun though. Glad it worked out.
